FAQ

Questions operators ask before a pilot.

Does the guest need to download an app?

No. The attendant shows a QR code on their own screen, the guest scans it with the phone camera, and the pass opens as a web page. There is no app, no store listing and no account to create.

Do you need the guest's phone number?

No. A phone number is optional. Without one the pass still works and still shows live status. If the guest gives one, they also get text updates and an Apple Wallet pass that updates itself on the lock screen.

What hardware do we need?

Devices your staff already carry. No printers, no proprietary scanners, no dedicated terminals. The attendant app runs in a browser on a phone or tablet.

What happens if the internet drops at the stand?

The attendant app keeps working. Drop-offs, photos and requests queue on the device and sync when the connection returns, with the original timestamps preserved so the record stays honest.

What if a guest loses their pass?

A manager or attendant can look the ticket up by plate or by name, confirm identity, and reissue access. The lookup and the reissue are both recorded on the ticket.

Can we still take cash?

Yes. Cash, Venmo and Zelle are recorded booth payments: the guest settles with the booth and the ticket records what was taken and who accepted it. A manager verifies it afterwards.

How do you handle damage disputes?

Intake photos and pick-up photos attach to the same ticket, alongside the attendant's written note and the timestamps for every hand-off. That gives you a record to work from rather than a reconstruction.

Is the AI damage detection an inspection?

No. It flags areas of possible existing damage in the photographs an attendant took. It is AI-detected, not an inspection, and the absence of a flag is not a statement that a vehicle was undamaged. Read the AI findings disclosure.

How long does setup take?

One stand, one shift. We configure the location, its rates and its payment methods, then run a shift alongside your team. There is no hardware installation to schedule.

Do you support multiple locations?

Yes. ValoPal is organised as operator → location → stand, so adding a property is configuration rather than a migration. Tip presets, payment methods, waiver text, branding and retention are per-location settings.

What does it cost?

$199 per location, per month, published on our pricing page. No per-car metering. Card processing fees are Stripe's, and optional text messaging is billed at cost. See pricing.

Where does our data live and who owns it?

The operator owns its data. We hold a limited licence to run the service on your behalf, records are scoped to your operator account, and you can export to CSV at any time. Read the operator terms.
