This policy describes the only text messages ValoPal sends: transactional updates about a guest's own vehicle, sent only when a guest chooses to give a number.
1.Messages are optional, and giving a number is the opt-in
ValoPal text messages are sent only if a guest chooses to provide a mobile number at drop-off. Providing that number constitutes opt-in to receive service-related text messages about that guest's own vehicle for that visit.
A number is never required. The ValoPal pass is a web page the guest already has open, so a guest who declines still sees live status, still pays from the pass, and still collects their car normally. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or of using the valet service.
2.What the guest sees when we ask for a number
This is the exact wording shown in the attendant app at the point a number is collected, next to the field:
Text me status updates. By giving your number you agree to receive text messages about your vehicle from ValoPal on behalf of the operator. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
3.Program description and message types
The program is called ValoPal Vehicle Status. Messages are sent by the parking operator through ValoPal and identify the property or operator. Message types are limited to:
- Your car is parked — confirmation that the vehicle has been placed and the ticket is open.
- Your car is on its way — the retrieval request has been accepted.
- Your car is ready — the vehicle is at the curb.
- Payment receipt — confirmation of a card payment or of a payment recorded at the booth.
4.Sample messages
- ValoPal: your car is parked. Track it and pay here: [pass link]. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
- ValoPal: your car is on its way to the curb. [pass link] Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
- ValoPal: your car is ready at the stand. [pass link] Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
- ValoPal: payment received, $[amount]. Receipt: [pass link]. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
5.Message frequency
Message frequency varies by visit. A typical visit generates between one and four messages. These messages are transactional and relate to the guest's own vehicle. They are not marketing messages, and we do not send promotional texts.
6.Opting out and getting help
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving text messages. You will receive one confirmation and no further messages. Opting out does not affect your pass, your car, or your ability to pay — the pass keeps working.
Reply HELP for help, or email hello@valopal.ai. For anything about your vehicle itself, speak to the staff at the stand.
7.Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply. ValoPal does not charge guests for text messages; your mobile carrier's standard rates apply to messages sent and received.
8.Carriers and delivery
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and network conditions, and we cannot guarantee that a message arrives or arrives promptly. Because of that, the pass — not the text message — is the authoritative view of your vehicle's status.
Supported carriers include AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Boost Mobile, Cricket Wireless, Metro by T-Mobile, Google Fi and other participating carriers. T-Mobile is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
9.We never sell or share your number
Mobile numbers and SMS consent are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Numbers are shared only with our SMS delivery provider for the sole purpose of sending the messages described above, and with the operator whose stand you visited. No mobile information is shared with any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes.
10.Privacy and retention
A mobile number is deleted after the ticket closes plus the operator's configured dispute window. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
