Notice Draft pending legal review. This document is published for transparency and will be reviewed by counsel before it is relied upon.
This is the text you accept on your phone when you drop off your car. It is published here with a version number so the record of your acceptance points at exactly this wording.
1.What you are agreeing to
When you scan the code and open your pass, you agree to this page. It explains what your digital valet pass does, what information is collected, and who is responsible for your car. It is short on purpose. If you do not want a digital pass, ask the attendant for another way to collect your car.
2.Who parks your car
The valet service is provided by the operator working at this property. It is not provided by ValoPal. The people who take your keys, park your car and bring it back work for that operator.
3.What ValoPal does
- Creates your digital pass so you can see your car's status without an app.
- Records the times: when you dropped off, when your keys were handed over, when you asked for your car, and when it came back.
- Processes your payment if you choose to pay by card. If you pay at the booth, ValoPal records that the operator took the payment.
4.What we collect, and what is optional
- Your car: make, model, colour and licence plate.
- Your name, if you or the attendant gives one.
- Your mobile number — this is optional. Without it, your pass still works and still shows live status. With it, you also get text updates and an Apple Wallet pass that updates on your lock screen.
- Payment status: paid by card, or paid at the booth.
Giving your number means you agree to get text messages about your own car. You can reply STOP at any time. See the SMS terms.
5.Photos of your car
The attendant takes photos of your car at drop-off to record how it looked when it was handed over. The operator may also take photos when your car comes back. These photos are attached to your ticket.
6.AI flags in those photos
Software may look at the drop-off photos and flag spots that could be existing damage. This is AI-assisted and it is not a vehicle inspection. It can miss damage, and it can flag something that is not damage.
If nothing is flagged, that does not mean your car was undamaged. A flag or the absence of one does not decide who is responsible for anything. More detail is on the AI findings page.
7.Getting your car back
Open your pass and request your car. The status changes to "on its way" and then "ready" when it is at the curb.
If you lose your pass — closed the tab, flat battery, new phone — go to the stand. Staff can find your ticket by your licence plate or your name and will check who you are before releasing the car. Losing the pass does not mean losing your car.
8.Payment and refunds
Rates, tips, refunds and disputes are handled by the operator, not by ValoPal. If you paid by card, the payment was processed by Stripe. If you want a refund or think you were charged incorrectly, speak to the operator or the property.
9.Who is responsible for your vehicle
Responsibility for your vehicle, its keys and anything inside it sits with the operator, on the terms posted on the notice at the stand. ValoPal does not park cars, hold keys, run the facility, or insure vehicles. ValoPal keeps the record of what happened.
10.How long your information is kept
Your name, number and plate are deleted after your ticket closes plus the dispute window the operator has set. Photos follow the same schedule. Basic timing information without your personal details is kept so the operator can see how the stand performed. To ask for deletion sooner, contact the operator or email privacy@valopal.ai.
11.Who to contact
About your car, your payment or your visit: the operator or the property. About your pass, a text message, or your information: hello@valopal.ai, or privacy@valopal.ai for privacy requests.
